Project Tasks

  • Ecobee Thermostat Installation

    Mounted and wired the Ecobee Smart Thermostat with PEK adapter. Configured HVAC system settings and verified operational control through the Ecobee app.

  • Window & Door Sensor Integration

    Paired sensors to Home Assistant and linked them to the thermostat logic. Automatically disables HVAC when windows or doors are open to conserve energy.

  • Home Assistant Automation Setup

    Programmed rules to switch the thermostat to "Away" mode when all household members leave. Triggered by Apple devices via HomeKit presence detection.

  • Intelligent Open-Window Alerts

    Built automations that compare indoor temperature and outside weather. If it’s cheaper and faster to open windows, the system notifies the user with a suggestion.

Project Details

Installed an Ecobee Smart Thermostat with full Home Assistant and HomeKit automation. Integrated window and door sensors for energy-aware behavior and built custom automations that suggest opening windows when it’s more efficient than running HVAC.
